F-Warrior Advantage
Rick is a graduate of the highly regarded Trial Lawyer’s College and now serves on its faculty. As both a graduate and F-Warrior, he is part of a select community of trial lawyers committed to mastering the craft of authentic advocacy. This network includes some of the most accomplished trial attorneys in the country, and it provides a level of collaboration and support that is rare in the legal profession.
Rick’s connection to the Trial Lawyer’s College gives him direct access to a nationwide group of lawyers who work together to analyze and refine cases at the highest level. Central to this work is a method of exploration known as psychodrama. Through this process, Rick is challenged by other faculty and members to examine his own assumptions, confront bias, and develop a deeper understanding of the human story behind each case. The goal is not performance, but clarity and truth, presented in a way that resonates with a jury.
Reflecting on his experience, Rick explains:
“With years of administrative trials behind me, I believed that attending the Trial Lawyer’s College was simply the next step toward becoming a true trial attorney. I thought I would spend three weeks learning how to persuade juries more effectively. I was wrong. The faculty had no interest in teaching persuasion. Instead, they taught that if I was willing to trust the jury enough to show them my authentic self, I could overcome any tactic used by opposing counsel. I would not become a better persuader. I could become something else entirely. I could lead. I could connect. I could become a warrior for justice.”
As a member of the faculty, Rick not only benefits from this community, he contributes to it. He actively participates in the psychodramatic work of other trial lawyers, helping them explore their cases with the same depth and honesty expected of him. This ongoing work demands constant self-examination and a willingness to understand human suffering at a deeper level.
For Rick, this approach is not just a method of practicing law. It shapes how he understands people, conflict, and responsibility. It informs every case he takes and every story he tells on behalf of his clients.
